My favorite item to organise your garage
The garage is the most under-utilized space in the American home. Has your garage out of control, with dangerous groupings of toys and fertilizer next to one another? Are you short on space for other supplies? Well, quite often the garage is the storage of the home busting at the seams. One way to free up precious garage space is to use the ceilings and walls.
If you store bicycles in your garage, chances are you store them on the floor, taking up tons of room. Stack those space-hoarding bicycles with a simple stacker stand.
The good folks at Garage Envy have this model and you can purchase it online on their website at http://www.garageenvyshop.com/gravitystand2bicycles-2.aspx
The one I personally own was purchased at Organised Living.

Is Your Car Full of Clutter?
Most busy people allow the junk to just pile up without ever even trying to de-clutter it. Every time they see their junky cars, it stresses them out a little more. Believe it or not, organising your car is one of the easiest things to organise. Plus the results surface quicker and you instantly feel better. We all rely on our vehicles to get us from point A to point B, especially in a hurry. But what if a co-worker or colleague wanted to drive with you to a luncheon or networking event? Would you be embarrassed? Would you have to prep your car the night before because the passenger and back seat is so loaded with embarrassing clutter? Here are our tricks to get your car de-cluttered in no time:
Take everything out, all at once
If you have Saturday off, get up in the morning, while it’s cool and light outside, and take everything out of your front and back seat. Have a garbage bag near by. As well, have two bins or crates near by. Mark one crate “KEEP” and the other crate “DONATE.” Sort loose car items as quickly as possible and put them in the garbage, “TO KEEP” crate and “TO DONATE” crate.
If your trunk is full, you may want to conquer this space on another Saturday; but using the same three sorting bins mentioned above.
What You Want to Throw Out
Throw out all trash, such as old receipts that you don’t need, old cups and food wrappers, and any junk mail. Don’t worry about vacuuming the car at this point. Just get the interior clear and de-cluttered.
Think Convenience
When you are driving to work, what do you typically need every day? Mint? Lip gloss? Cup holder? Note book? Make sure these staple items have a home in your car permanently. Many cars have nifty little pockets along the door and handle that are perfect permanent homes for the little things that make your commute easier.
Spend Extra Time on the Glove Compartment
It’s pretty limited in space, so you probably want to keep items to a minimum in there so you can easily open it without items spilling out. Suggested items to keep in your glove compartment are:
- Insurance card
- Vehicle Title
- 1-2 new air fresheners
- Bank envelopes, if you use the drive through ATM often
- 1-2 favorite CD’s
Really Look at Your “KEEP” Items
If you travel a lot in your car or are a salesperson, you may want to consider converting your trunk into storage. You also may want to consider these nifty car organisers that create neat, organised, and permanent homes in your car within reach.
